The Active Therapy

Thelo Active Therapy uses an unorthodox method of combining Martial Arts (MA) and the therapeutic techniques of counselling, to assist individuals and or groups with trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, low self-confidence and low self-worth.

The Thelo Active Therapy website design focused on creating a calm, human-centred brand identity and website that builds trust from first interaction. In a space often dominated by generic, clinical design, the approach prioritised simplicity, clarity, and emotional connection to position the service as a safe, and approachable space. A minimal visual system of soft colours, clean typography, and understated imagery enhances usability, while the website’s clear structure and warm, direct tone guide users from arrival to enquiry. The result is a cohesive, considered brand experience that feels reassuring, professional, and easy to engage with.

The Brief

  • Develop a brand identity and website for a modern therapy practice

  • Create a sense of calm, trust, and clarity from first interaction

  • Position the brand as human and approachable — not clinical

The Problem

  • Therapy is deeply personal, yet often presented in generic, clinical ways

  • Clients arrive overwhelmed, uncertain, and time-poor

  • Most competitors look the same — soft colours, but no clear positioning

Key tension: How do we create a brand that feels safe, while still being distinct and memorable?

The Strategy

Positioning

  • Human-first

  • Calm, grounded, emotionally intelligent

  • A safe space — not a service

Guiding principle: Design an experience that feels like the first session — clear, calm, and reassuring.
