Ginger Browns Hairstylist

Ginger Browns sought a refresh to their longstanding brand. Well known in the Sunshine Coast Cotton Tree area, they wanted to retain their existing colours and introduce fresh typography which would stand out on the street and carry well across their other marketing items and social media.

This hair salon branding was designed to establish a fresh cohesive identity that balances style with consistency to remain welcoming and approachable in a highly competitive and trend-driven industry. The result is a professional and recognisable identity that reflects the quality of the service, and strengthens recognition across all customer touchpoints. 2024

The Brief

  • Create a brand identity for a hair salon

  • Communicate style, professionalism, and trust to attract and retain clients

  • Develop a cohesive system across digital, print, and in-salon touchpoints

The Problem

  • Hair salon branding is often highly saturated and visually repetitive

  • Many brands rely on trends that quickly become generic

  • The identity must appeal to a style-conscious audience while still feeling accessible and welcoming

  • Visual consistency is often lacking across social media, signage, and customer-facing materials

Key Tension: Creating a distinctive, style-led brand that feels premium without alienating everyday clients or being overly trend-driven

The Strategy

Positioning

  • Modern, refined, and style-conscious

  • Approachable yet elevated

  • Designed to reflect both creativity and professionalism

  • Focus on a cohesive visual language that aligns with the salon experience

  • Build trust through consistency across all brand touchpoints

  • Use design to signal quality and attention to detail

Guiding principle: The brand should feel as considered and polished as the services it represents
