Reliable, caring and respectful housesitting and pet care

About me

A woman with glasses sitting at a desk in front of an iMac computer with a forest visible outside the window. The desk has a white keyboard, and notebook.

I’m a 53-year-old Australian woman with a calm, organised and dependable nature. Friends, family, and clients describe me as trustworthy, thoughtful, practical, and highly attentive to detail.

Professionally, I work as a senior graphic designer and freelancer through my studio, miche.design. My work is remote and flexible, which means I can comfortably care for homes and pets while continuing to work responsibly from wherever I’m staying, provided there’s reliable internet access.

My career has taught me the importance of reliability, communication, organisation, and respecting other people’s spaces and expectations. These same qualities naturally flow into the way I care for homes.

You can expect your home to be looked after with genuine care, cleanliness, and respect, just as I would care for my own.

❋ Experienced with animals

Animals, small and big, have been part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely enjoy.

Over the years I’ve cared for:

  • Dogs

  • Cats

  • Birds and budgies

  • Fish

  • Guinea pigs

  • Chickens

  • Horses, goats, and cows

I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions including:

  • Feeding routines

  • Medication schedules

  • Walking and exercise

  • Grooming

  • Cleaning and maintenance

  • Playtime, companionship and affection

I understand that pets miss their people while they’re away, so I always make sure they receive not only proper care, but also patience, attention, cuddles, and companionship so they feel safe, calm, and loved.

As someone who enjoys hiking and an active lifestyle, I’m especially happy taking dogs for long walks and outdoor adventures.

❋ Home and garden care

Beyond pet care, I’m also confident with:

  • General home upkeep

  • Plant and garden care

  • Keeping spaces clean and organised

  • Mail collection

  • Security awareness

  • Maintaining routines and schedules

Having owned multiple homes myself, I understand the importance of treating a property with respect and care. My goal is for you to return home to a house that feels exactly as you left it.

Travel and availability

I have flexibility in my schedule and travel plans, which means that I can take on opportunities as they arise.

I’m particularly interested in house sits across:

  • Australia

  • Coastal locations

  • Nature-focused areas

  • Regional towns and relaxed communities

As I work remotely, reliable internet access is important.

Why I love house sitting

For me, house sitting is about trust, connection, and creating a genuine win-win experience. You get peace of mind knowing your home and pets are being carefully looked after, while I have the opportunity to work, experience new places, meet wonderful people, and enjoy the company of animals along the way. I especially enjoy slower, more meaningful travel and experiencing places like a local rather than simply passing through.
